Marking today
Today starts the day that I try my darndest to keep this thing up to date. Today is the first day of true summer vacation. Today is Barney's first full day in a new house. Today, I went to a Pelicans' game and saw them win! Today I saw fireworks light up the night. Today I said hello to a friend. Today I said goodbye to someone I love.
This past week was amazing. I saw Michy, mom, baby, joe, natalie, tj, angela, and dad. And They all were able to meet my darling. It was wonderful. We went to Union terminal and saw and omnimax about the nile river. totally cool. we went to cincy parks and slid down stone slides. went hiking in the wilderness of yellow springs. danced to the beat of July for King's drums. drove 10 extra hours to see a friend in Columbus and grandparents in Ashtabula. and fooled a cat several times into trusting us until the fateful day where she'd travel 14 hours to live with us. yessiree bob, my visit to ohio was well spent. I also found out something spectacular. wonderfully awesome. but SHHHHHH, don't tell a soul! my brother is going to pop THE question to his love. My brother. Lady love. Forever.
I'm shocked really. It's almost surreal. He's a great guy (although I never give him enough credit). She's a greay girl and her influence on him has been more than amazing and for the better. She brings out the best in him and he becomes this really swell guy. I'm more used to him teasing me all the time so to see him being affectionate and such is a big deal.
this weekend, i'm going to see my cousin graduate from college and then I start work on monday. i got a job as a tour guide in the downtown historic district of Pensacola. I know...i'm a nerd. get used to it. but i'll love it! I get to dress up in the oldie dresses from pioneer days and talk about how much i love to knit and cook and do womenly chores. it should be fun, although the heat may put a damper on the experience. regardless, we all have to eat and i have to put food on the table for cat and me.
well, i'm turning in for the night. i know it's early, but i can't wait to dream tonight.
good random feeling: I feel...good, because I'm content in life and I have the wonderful feeling knowing someone far away is thinking as fondly of me as i am of them. it's very comforting. it helps make the distance feel invisible. i hope it lasts over the summer. i love it.
