a time of rememberance...

Sep 11, 2004 18:06

we all know what happened today a few years ago, but i don't want to remember it for the horrors it drew in my mind. today, as i will think of it for years to come, will be spent with the ones i love. i will talk to my parents, my siblings, my friends. i will give them hugs and let them know how much i appreciate them in my life. after all, what did 9-11 make you realize? the importance of love. such a vague word. it can be taken to so many depths. it can cause pain and it can cause pure joy. such an interesting feeling. so today, don't bring in politics, or upcoming elections, or even all the chaos that happened today. instead, hold the one you love and think of how fortunate you are to be alive, surrounded by so many people who care deeply for you.

moving on.

speaking of love, you know what i love? ice cream. and jason. renee's boyfriend, jason, is a wonderful wonderful person. he doesn't have a bad bone in his body. his soul/heart is pure as gold. he only means good and always brings a smile into the room. today, jason comes into the house bearing ice cream (from a passing ice cream truck) for my roomies and me. no wanting anything in return. this boy is a keeper. renee, i approve. :-) he and ian (my quasi brother) are probably the sweetest guys i've ever met and my roommates are dating them. this house is so full of love. sometimes i can't begin to explain the overwhelming feeling of love i get when i'm in a room with all of them. it really is beautiful.

lesson for today, especially today, surround yourself with love and your life will be much better off.

as for drink like a pirate night, that was crazy. simply crazy. that's a whole story on it's own so if you care to know...ask me. i don't think i should write details on here. let's just say alcohol has never been and never will be a friend of mine. it brings out some of the most unwelcomed parts in people, no matter their intentions. inhabitions can be good things sometimes, but you don't need alcohol to get rid of them when you need to.
