Let me start off today's post by saying I really need to find a job. Any job...I am so bored. So, to that end, I am going to create some posters to put up in my apartment building and my grandma's building, advertising my services for housework, grocery shopping and any odd jobs like that. I will charge $15/hour for housework (since I will need cleaning tools/products to be supplied), $12/hour for grocery shopping and other errands like that. Any odd jobs will be charged on a per item basis.
This morning I had my annual physical...everything seems good. My doctor mentioned my weight (BMI is 35..yikes!) but at the same time he wasn't overly concerned yet...since my blood pressure was fine. He just wants me to try to get my weight down a bit so I stay healthy. Which I am working on. We also talked about my drinking. When I last saw him in December, I was drinking a bottle of wine 6 nights out 7...I know...I'm ashamed to admit that. Today I was able to tell him that in February I had 14 days alcohol free, 9 of them in a row and 2 while on vacation. So far in March, I have had 7 days alcohol free and when I do drink, it's a rum and coke made with 1/2 oz of rum. I'm not buying wine like I used to, because I know that's my weakness. I can drink a whole bottle. I also asked him to run an STD kit on my PAP test...while I'm not overly concerned, Henderson and I did have a condom slip...so I figure I would rather be safe than sorry.
I then came home, searched the job boards, saw nothing interesting (unless of course I suddenly discover I can develop Java applications) and decided to have a nap. 4.5 hours later I woke up...holy crap. I can't do that every day! I searched the job boards again, submitted my resume to Food Basics (they are hiring P/T produce department staff) and then made dinner.
I also heard from Henderson tonight...he again said that I should move down there and stay with him. When I asked him what I would do for work, he replied, "you could help me with the chairs and the jet ski. I also talked to my boss at Surfside....and he seems keen on hiring you." So...I am taking my resume in May. Henderson has also become quite the hockey fan...he asked me when Ottawa was playing next...and he's going to try and watch the game tomorrow night. Not like Ottawa is playing well, but I think it's sweet that he's following my team...I'm going to take him a Sens tshirt and if Ottawa is still in the playoffs at that point, we're going to go to Bert's to watch a game.
And that's all I did today. I know...boring. I am now going to wash my dinner dishes and do a bit of dusting. Tomorrow my friend Robin is coming over for dinner...after she leaves, I'm thinking of heading downtown to check out Rise Ashen at the Mercury Lounge. On Friday, if I can get a ride and a ticket, I'm hoping to see That 1 Guy at the Blacksheep Inn.
With that, I'm out.
