Ignorance and daily life

While I was not watching CA had a couple of earthquakes and a tsunami alarm (not that SF knew about that last part (it is the third brief on the page)). The funny part is that I just ordered something for earthquake preparedness although at the time I did not know it was good for that: a flat hose, rated for drinking water. I do not intend to drink from it but after reading about hoses leaching lead I bought it for the house. [I'm not addicted to consumer reports, btw. Metaefficient's domain name has not been renewed otherwise I'd have added the URL here. But CR did have an article, so there it is.]

The whole earthquake preparedness thing has been in the 'future' list of tasks for me. Of course when it happens and I'm, not prepared, I will be mighty pissed. So I think I'll work at least on getting water. Now, if I'm getting 30 gallons of water stored in the house, it will be for a year at a time. and most plastics leach crap into the water. Anyone know of gigantic Sigg flasks? ;P
