Hey Andrea! I know I'm more of a silent watcher here and on DA, but I read this and just had to make a peep.
Brenda (Windfalcon) and I discovered your tutorials , bought our tools, and our first hide of leather together. Like her, I am so darn grateful that you helped unleash a whole new world of potential art for me! I had always loved masks and used them in my 2D work, but when I saw your tuts, a whole new world opened up for me that I had thought would be too difficult and impossible to achieve previously. Leather for masks? I had thought only paper mache was feasible! I was so pleasantly surprised.
I never knew leather could do so much and now I craft with it just about every day! It has quickly overtaken my 2D work in dominance. Leather crafting has helped me survive those financial times while my 2D art has been gathering dust on the shelves. I can't thank you enough for that and just thought you needed to hear these words from yet another admirer.
Your work is undeniably wonderful and I think you've also done the right thing starting up a community like Leathermaskart. This has really helped to consolidate all these budding mask makers and give them a better idea of what to charge for their work. I consider the founding of this group another one of your achievements for the medium. You've done so much to encourage other mask-makers in a positive way and I don't think it's something you should regret, insofar as the lives you have positively affected with your kind sharing of knowledge.
I look forward to seeing what new heights the art form takes you to. I know the potential is there because it's obvious from everything you have done that you have the power to achieve so much.
Thanks for everything, hon, and keep on creating!:)
