This post comes from my veranda. After cleaning my bathroom (yes, it shines), picking up my bedroom and doing 2.5 loads of laundry, I decided to move my alien chair and portable stereo out here and finish my bucket-o-diet-cola while enjoying some fresh air.
The short week was good. Not a huge ammount of work, but not dead either - no pun intended. I got most everything done that I needed to. I'll finish everything else up on Monday and Tuesday and get it to Gail. heck, maybe I'll even get it ALL done on Monday.
Kristin and I walked a couple nights this week. I feel a lot better. As soon as I got home from my massage yesterday (which was WONDERFUL - I'm totally in love with Skyler!) we took off. Sklar had stretched my MCL a little and while it felt nice at the time, walking a few miles on it afterward was maybe not the smartest thing in the world. it was a little swollen lol.
My head has been a HUGE ball of snot the past few days. I guess it has been about 6 months since my last sinus infection, I'm due. I've been keeping myself highly medicated with claritin, decongestant, mucinex and at night, advil to keep the fever down - I've woken up every morning with it breaking - like this morning it was 96.7F when I took it. hopefully sleeping in a little bit tomorrow will help. That and the pollen count going down a little.
I'm not focusing very hard on this entry. It's kind of nice just to sit here and watch the sky and the seagulls and pigeons and the trees on the hills around Hansen Park. I really love living here. It's really peaceful, but close enough to all of the places in town I go to all the time that no matter what I need to do/what I want it's about 5 minutes away. Well, that, of course excludes my parent's ranch, Pasco and Richland - those are all 15-20 minutes.. at least it's not 30-45 anytime i want to go anywhere like it was with mom and dad, although sometimes I do miss how quiet it is all the time out there.
Melanie found a job for me at her optometrist's office this week when she was in there. $14/hr plus benefits. I told her to tell him I'd be in the next day, but that I could be a smidge late. Kennewick to Vegas is a BIT of a commute. It got me thinking, though, that finding a job somewhere else wouldn't really be that hard. I've got LOTS of office experience and a lot of it is Medical. And there's always a tanning salon... RIGHT lol. So, when i feel like I'm a little more financially stable, I'm going to look into what it would be like to move to Vegas or Seattle. I could live with Melanie or Hannah (respectively), depending on who had the room. Vegas would be SO much fun - mostly because Melanie would be there... and Sean and Casey live there so if I got REALLY lonely for family, I could always go hang out there. Seattle is close to home, i LOVE the water, the city and the rain, and REALLY, you can't get any better than Hannah Banana, Big Mac and the I-guy. We'll see what happens. Right now it's just a fledgeling idea in my little nogin, but I think I'm finally responsible and confident enough to plan and go through with it. Stand on my own a little bit more and have an adventure building a new life.
Wow.. back to regularly scheduled update on life...
Tomorrow I'm going out on the river with the Doggett clan for Staci and Matt's grad party. I'm so excited to see everyone! I've been totally hermity and reclusive and haven't been hanging out with anyone, so seeing their families hasn't happened either, obviously. I hope Auntie Booboo and Uncle Murphy are there - I'm sure they will be. Mom brought me a new can of sunblock. She's freaked out that I'm going to get burnt to a crisp. Admittedly, I might get a little toasted - it's my first time really out in the sun since FL... I'm a smidge pasty - oh, and being kinda sick, you can totally see my veins even more than normal. I've gone from pasty to transparent lol.
My love for Nickelback just keeps growing. (they just popped up on the iPod playlist) I happened to catch them on VH1 Rock Honors last weekend honoring ZZTop. Sharp dressed man. Yes please, Chad Kroger. Love me some Canadian rockers!
oops! time to put the sheets in the dryer... AND We're BACK!
We've got a really nice breeze going on right now.
I miss Chris living here. It was really nice to be able to call and see what he was doing and not have to drive anywhere. I guess I could get to know another one of the neighbors in the complex that has, what? 9 buildings? No way, that's way too many people, there's bound to be a few I'd get along with, but way too much work. Maybe if they had a resident BBQ or something, but really? would the girls in the office here do that? Probably not.
Sounds like someone else had the same idea I did, I hear music coming from the next building. Trendsetting. It's my middle name... er some junk... (update: she just has the music in her apt really loud and her door open.)
My 44 oz vat o' diet pepsi is almost gone. is this the point where Kristin comes home and stages an intervention. I ceertainly hope not. I'm not ready to give the carbonated goodness up yet.
Maybe with my next paycheck I'll buy some plants for out here. Last year mine didn't fare so well with me being gone at pageant rehearsal every night. There were some nights they weren't exactly... i dunno.. watered? oops. With no pageant this year, maybe it'd be nice to have something to take care of when I get home from work.
Yup. This is the happiest I've been in a LONG time.
