Haven't written anything here in a couple of weeks, so I thought I should write something. Need to do something to break through this writer's block/lack of creativity. Even my plush pals (and the personae they represent) haven't been nearly as active in my imagination recently as they usually are, and that's a bit troubling...
Winter made a return today, with gusty winds and sleet and snow. Only a light covering of snow here so far, but it's enough to be demoralizing after a recent taste of Spring weather. But it gave me a good excuse to stay at home with my plush pals today, starting by sleeping in an extra hour or two to make up for the timeshift of Daylight Savings Time. Had two of my favorite plush snow leopards make their ways under the covers before I got out of bed this morning, although I'm not sure if they were being messengers of the wintry weather or if they were snuggling under the covers with me so they could escape the wintry weather :-)
Still haven't watched Brother Bear on DVD yet. Or The Final Countdown, which is a longtime favorite movie of mine that finally came out on DVD last week. Just can't seem to get my mind focused long enough to just sit and watch a movie with my undivided attention. But what I have done over the past several weeks is read. I've probably read more books in the past couple of weeks than I have in the last six months. I'd forgotten how much fun it was to stretch out in bed, surrounded by plush pals, and just read a book. Sometimes I'll read non-stop for hours, sometimes I'll read a chapter or two and take a snuggle break with a plush pal or two. And sometimes a plush pal and I will read together, the plush pal snuggled under my arm, or laying next to me (my big leopard does this often, making him a very learned feline :-), or laying on my back and peering over my shoulder at the book. It's a very relaxing thing, reading with plush pals, and a good way to unwind after stressful days at work.
Now, if I could get my creative juices flowing so I could start writing more again...
