I commented on Code Blue 2, let's do YamaNade also. XD

Well, haven't read the manga and I'm too lazy to start catching up on it so most of my comparisons are based from the anime itself. Of course, I know die-hard fans would also point out the anime's shortcomings but I still think the anime, even with a so-so ending like that, gave an epic justice to the manga and I enjoyed the quirky interactions amongst the characters.

Ok, before we get sidetracked here, Let's talk about the dramu adaptation here which recently aired its first episode last friday. I clicked the first part in youtube. First reaction: Uh, okay, the pacing was good. Scene flowed smoothly from scene to scene. Then I clicked on the 2nd part: WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON WITH OPENING CREDITS? LIKE WHAT THE FUCK. yez, seriously, I was facepalming all the time. I COULD SEE A NEW PERSON BEING HIRED BY JOHNNY *coughMiyao/Ranmarucough* and a new Johnny's group debuting *well, Oomasa Aya is out of the question here.* Then we all know that Sunako played by Oomasa Aya is being made into an object of bargain between her aunt, Nakahara Mine *the actress could have been a bit younger like Nanako Matsushima* and her boarders Takano Kyouhei (Kamenashi Kazuya); Toyama Yukinojo (Tegoshi Yuuya), Oda Takenaga (Uchi Hiroki) and Morii Ranmaru (Miyao Shuntarou who is oddly growing on me lol). Make Sunako a perfect Yamato Nadeshiko and your rent will be free...forever. Something to that effect. So the sparkly guys *lol at the pun* do their best to start working their charms on Sunako, when she goes missing! So Kyouhei ended up in Hokkaido, searching for her until he came upon Sunako's "captor" (played by Kobayashi Ryoko who actually starred alongside Ueda Tatsuya for Romeo and Juliet stageplay and, of course, Ikuta Toma and Ohno Satoshi for Maou. LOL. couldn't help adding that, haha)  who was actually her friend and that she was having a problem with her so-called boyfriend/host conning on poor ladies' hearts. So they go about a plan to stop that evil con guy by going in the host club itself and Sunako and Kyouhei, with the others, save the day! yey!!!! Hmm, to tell you the truth. I was disappointed with the whole thing. orz. No, I'm not your typical fan who hates manga and anime being drawn to life, it's just that I was expecting for something crack-induced, all out laughter, something I relished when i was watching the anime. I couldn't even say if the actors portrayed their characters as close as possible. Kamenashi Kazuya's Takano is a bit dull, Uchi Hiroki's Oda is a bit confusing *Well, Oda's character border on the gray zone but he's too lulzy in the anime version. the drama version is just..blah. orz*, Tegoshi's Yukinojo *though a bit commendable* is not childish enough and Miyao's Ranmaru...well, no comment. I mean it in a good way I guess. haha. And Sunako.....umm, she's too tetchy.  The anime Sunako is not. She may have an obsessive fear with sparkly men but she's not tetchy. She's not whiny either. *Well, the anime one is whiny but she's funny being at it. the drama version is just...whiny. orz* Would have recommended Kuriyama Chiaki for the role because she can get as ugly as she could be beautiful, something that Oomasa Aya lacked but I know I'd get bricked. What do I know anyway? haha.

Well, one thing's for sure, Winter Drama Season isn't off to a good start. I'll just categorize this drama under "Those I Watch Because JEfags Are There, Not Because Of The Story." Maybe I should start on the manga to get my weekly fix? LOL.

musings, yamato nadeshiko shichi henge, review of some sort
