EPIC WEEKEND IS EPIC.
Hallo thar, folks! I just got back from Manila after spending an epic con weekend with friends. Been reading LJ entries right nao and I must say I couldn't keep up with them even though I was without Internet for only two days. LOL.
The last convention I went to was Cosplaymania last September and though I enjoyed cosplaying as Cornelia Li Britannia from Code Geass, I was downright tired after that event. It was a wonder I even managed to stay up late when we spent the night over in my friend's house in Antipolo, Rizal. BUT, the last saturday's event, Ame no Jidai was undoubtedly epic. Epic because some of my orgmates and second cousins came. I've been going to up_ame 's events, starting from their very first convention, and even though the pool of cosplaying fandom last Saturday was not that interesting as compared to the ones who attended Cosplaymania, the event was still worth it. I was supposed to join the Karaoke Contest, but we were still eating in Wendy's up until the ending of the contest registration. I was planning to sing NEWS' Koi no ABO *with dance steps* for the lulz. Oh well, I did join during the first AME fair 4 years ago so I guess the mere memory of it is enough. *I sang Hyde's "Hello" wearing the shirt from the PV made by one of my best friends.* And, I did have fun pawing through second-hand and ORIGINAL cds from Japan. *Only 75php each. haha, talk about bargain* When I heard from paranoiascreams that she saw KAT-TUN's "RESCUE" single and a NEWS one from THAT same pile of stuff in the Mangaholixx con 2 weeks ago, I was hoping they'd be in last Saturday as well. So the feeling was a mixture of happiness and dread when I saw their booth, because what were the chances that you're gonna get those in 2 big boxes and racks of cds right? So there we were, checking those cds out and here is the list of my findings*I can't remember exactly all the names of the singles and albums so please forgive me LOL*:
1. Kinki Kids singles plus their A album
2. a Tokio single
3. Mongol800's Message album, which was featured in a Proposal Daisakusen episode. *Remember Kenzou borrowing Rei's copy? Or was it the other way around? LOL* Anyway, I urged my friend to buy it, since I already have it and, she's a big fan of the show plus the song, "Chiisana Koi no Uta" that was used in that ProDai episode was there in that cd as well *duh* so why not buy it?
4. EXILE's singles
5. Yuzu's single
6. Kobukuro's single and best collection album
7. Road of Major single
8. Ayumi Hamasaki's Evolution single
9. Glay's album and their single "Aitai Kimochi" which I already have.
10. Shiina Ringo's "Shouso Strip" album which I also have
11. Backstreet Boys' "Shape of my Heart" LOL. SRSLY.
12.B'z very beautiful limited edition album. I was on the verge of buying it though I don't listen to B'z that much.
13. X-Japan's album which has Silent Jealousy in it.
14. Lucifer
15. Morning Musume, lots of them

18. Chemistry's Mirage in Blue

In the end, I forced fionnakreuz to buy it since she's TEH KAT-TUN fan among us.Of all the cds I found, I did not manage to come across that coveted NEWS single or any LArc cds. So I did not buy anything instead. hahahaha~~ It was great seeing my second cousins and greyrook_22 too. We did not finish the convention though since my orgmates made a unanimous decision to go home earlier than expected, so we were not able to watch the cosplay catwalk. Then fionnakreuz and I spent the night in our friend's place*we were lucky we were able to persuade her parents to come, haha*, watching NEWS' Winter Party Diamond Concert Documentary; Shige's Shalala Tambourine, Koyamama's Love Addiction and Massu's Superman music videos, Cartoon Kat-tun episode 136, 3 VS Arashi episodes *the ones where Gackt, Tegoshi, Ikuta Toma guested* Hard Gay and Matsumoto Jun, and Music Station clips. So much to end that epic day. *hehe! TWAS ALSO KEN'S*L'Arc* BIRTHDAY!!*
My friend and I were also planning to go to another anime convention in the SAME venue earlier today but fark, THERE WERE MUCHO LOTSA PEOPLE *even more than AME's attendees* so they had to stop selling tickets. Well, my friend and I had an alternative plan anyway. We went to Kumyoung instead. *Kumyoung is a karaoke system which surprisingly has Japanese and Korean songs for not so expensive price. hek* Too bad twas a holiday so we got stuck in a booth that only has Japanese songs up until early part of 2006.
So now, I'm home again, dl-ing fangirl stuff and still spazzing over the UPCOMING LIVE-ACTION DRAMA THAT IS YAMATO NADESHIKO SHICHI HENGE. KAMETEGOSHIUCHI~~ SRSLY, I LIKE TEGOSHI FOR YUKINOJO'S ROLE. And I thought Uchi disappeared already. lelz. And see, I wuz right. Kame will still has a dramu this winter season. hekhekhek.
