Summary: After Key's dad dies his mom forces them to move to America. His new high school is filled with people he'd never dealt with before, and Key starts to wonder what life is really about. There's also this guy named Jonghyun, his best friend Taemin's stepbrother. At first they didn't really get along, but they eventually become... closer?

Taemin shifted in his seat and whispered to Key, “When does the movie start?”
“Probably a few more minutes, why?”
“Just wondering, I guess. It feels like we’ve been waiting forever.”
He looked over to his left and sighed. Why’d he have to sit next to Minho? The movie hadn’t even started yet and Taemin was already to leave. He was going to ask Key to switch seats, but it might make him look rude.
“If only the movie would start,” he growled in his head. Leaning on the left armrest without thinking, his arm bumped into Minho’s.
“Sorry, I forgot your arm was there.” “Ugh, could this get any worse?”
“It’s fine, I’ll just steal Jonghyun’s armrest,” and apparently Minho did because Taemin heard Jonghyun’s whining not too long after.
After a few minutes of movie trailers, the movie finally began. Taemin was so into the movie, he completely forgot that he was sitting next to Minho.
It was almost the end of movie when Key whispered, “I’m going to the bathroom.”
Taemin only nodded, too lost in the movie. When the movie ended he stood up and stretched. Taemin looked around for a moment, “Huh? Where is everyone?”
Minho shrugged, “Well, halfway through the movie I remember Onew and Jonghyun going to get more food. I guess they never came back...”
“Key said he was going to the bathroom a little while ago, and he never came back either.”
“Come on, let’s go look for them,” Minho walked down the aisle trying to not step on the popcorn.
Taemin followed nervously behind, “Key was my ride too,” he whined, “Well… his mom was my ride.”
Minho grunted, “Onew was my ride.”
Both walked out into the lobby of the movie theatre, “Go check the bathroom or something, and I’ll look in the game room.”
Taemin moved slowly walked to the bathroom and looked for Key.
“Key?”
“Are you in here?”
“Could this get any more awkward?”
After a few weird looks from people in the bathroom, Taemin decided it was a sign to leave. Key obviously wasn’t in there.
He headed back to the lobby and didn’t see Minho, so he decided to sit on a bench.
“I can’t believe those three left me here with him! What am I suppose to do now? How am I supposed to go home? Do I have to walk home? What if I get raped?!”
Taemin jumped when he felt a hand on his shoulder, but it wasn’t a rapist like he thought it was, it was just Minho.
“Just as bad as a rapist...”
“I didn’t see them, did you?”
He shook his head, “Nope.”
Minho sat down next to Taemin, “Guess we might as well wait for a while and see if they show up.”
There was an awkward moment of silence.
“Have you tried calling?” Taemin asked.
“Yeah, all of their phones are off.”
“Oh.”
“Why don’t you have a phone yet, Taemin?”
“My step mom doesn’t think I need one yet.”
“Jonghyun had one at your age didn’t he?”
He shook his head, “Jonghyun’s special.”
There was another awkward moment of silence.
Minho coughed lightly, “So, you dyed your hair?”
Taemin shifted oddly, “Yeah, it was Key’s idea.”
“It looks nice?”
“Thanks… your hair’s gotten pretty long, are you growing it out?”
“Talk about major awkward conversation.”
“I just haven’t gone to get it cut. Does it look better longer?”
Taemin blushed, “Why is he asking me these kinds of questions?”
“I think it looks better longer…”
Minho flashed a smile, “I’ll keep it long then.”
“That smile makes me want to hide in a hole. Key, Onew, Jonghyun, where are you guys?!”

When Key walked into the smoothie shop he was greeted by Jonghyun slurping on a smoothie, while waving him over. Key’s shoulders hunched with guilt as he walked up to the table, sitting down opposite of the two.
“Why the long face?” Jonghyun questioned.
“I just feel bad for ditching Taemin is all.”
“We’re going to go back, just a while after the movie is out. Then that way they can be alone for a while,” Onew said smartly.
“Then again Minho could always find another ride home, there’s plenty of kids from our school there,” Jonghyun said before taking another long slurp of his smoothie.
“But he wouldn’t leave Taemin alone there,” Onew commented.
“What if he hates me now for leaving him there?”
“Get a smoothie; it’ll make ya feel better!” Jonghyun grinned childishly.
Key got a banana smoothie and chatted with Jonghyun and Onew for a while. The movie was most likely done by now so the three decided to head back.
“I think I’m going to get a smoothie for Taemin before we leave,” Key walked up to the counter, “I’d like one strawberry smoothie-“
“Make that two strawberry smoothies,” Key looked to see Jonghyun standing next to him and gave him a questioning look, “What? I’m getting one for Minho too.”
When the woman behind the counter said the amount he went to give the money to her, Jonghyun pushed his hand back and gave her his money instead.
“Jonghyun?”
“These drinks are expensive, so I’m buying them. Plus Taemin is my brother, I should pay for him.”
“Then let me pay for Minho’s.”
“Nope, he’s my friend, I’ll pay for him.”
“But Minho’s my friend too!”
“But I’ve known him longer,” Jonghyun smirked and grabbed the smoothies, “too late, we already have them now.”
Key pouted, “Why is it that one minute he’s childish and the next he’s acting like an adult?”
Key grabbed one of the smoothies and threw his empty cup out while he walked out, Jonghyun slowly following behind. Onew was already waiting outside when the two came out, “What took you two so long?”
“Jonghyun was being stubborn.”
“Me? I think you’re talking about yourself, Key.”
“Whatever,” he said while walking to the movie theatre.
When the three arrived at the movie theatre once again they noticed Minho and Taemin on a bench. As Taemin saw them his face showed a sign of relief, “Where have you guys been?!”
“We decided to get some smoothies,” Jonghyun said happily.
“And you left us two here?” Minho raised an eyebrow.
“Yep now have a smoothie, it’ll make ya feel better,” Jonghyun shoved the smoothie into Minho’s hand.
Key handed Taemin his smoothie and grabbed his arm, “Come on, I told my mom to pick us up around this time, later guys!”
Once outside, Taemin shoved Key a little, “I can’t believe you guys ditched us.”
“Aww, Taeminnie, don’t be like this. We were just trying to help you two! You’ll thank us one day, okay?”
Taemin looked down at his drink and took a sip, “Okay…”
Key moved a piece of Taemin’s hair and smiled, “Love you Taemin~”
“Eww, get away from me!” Taemin laughed.
“Whatever my mom’s here, now get in the car before someone rapes you, you’re too cute to be out here this late.”
Taemin whined, “I don’t want to be raped…”
