29. Stargate SG-1: A Matter of Honor by Sally Malcolm.
28. The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway: superb; somehow I got out of high school/college without reading this.
27. Red Sky at Morning by Richard Bradford: well-written glimpse into small-town northern New Mexico.
26. DeKok and Variations on Murder by A.C. Baantjer: good mystery.
25. Sh*t My Dad Says by Justin Halpern: not that funny, completely non-substantive, a blatant cashing-in on Father's Day.
24. The Oxford Murders by Guillermo Martínez: good, complex murder mystery with math!
23. The Silent Treatment by David Carkeet: teen book; not bad.
22. Alex & Me by Irene M. Pepperberg: very enjoyable; lots of insight into what makes language language.
21. Mr. Monk Goes to Germany by Lee Goldberg: fun; pretty much exactly like the show.
20. A Pirate Looks at Fifty by Jimmy Buffett: fun, got kind of long about halfway through.
19. Holidays on Ice by David Sedaris: not typical Christmasy fare; I'm not bitter enough to find Sedaris all that funny.
18. Home Game: An Accidental Guide to Fatherhood by Michael Lewis: fun, since I like Michael Lewis.
17. An Expensive Education by Nick McDonnel: not bad.
16. The Christmas Bus by Melody Carlson: typical Christmasy fare.
15. Star Trek © 2009 by Alan Dean Foster et al.: Clearly based on an early script of the movie, nevertheless enjoyable as an audiobook.
14. Romo: My Life on the Edge: Living Dreams and Slaying Dragons by Bill Romanowski: Actually interesting.
13. Canyon Solitude by Patricia C. McCairen: very nicely written.
12. Red Mars by Kim Stanley Robinson: interesting, though not beautiful.
11. Mr. Monk in Outer Space by Lee Goldberg: about as good as an episode of the show.
10. Approaching the Possible: The World of Stargate SG-1 by Jo Storm: can you detect an obsession? Good reference book for fans.
9. Stargate SG-1: Relativity by James Swallow: new aliens and technology and time travel; fun!
8. Stargate SG-1: The Barque of Heaven by Suzanne Wood: actually quite fun reading, perfect for vacation.
7. Game Change: Obama and the Clintons, McCain and Palin, and the Race of a Lifetime by J.Heilemann & M.Halperin: reconstructed behind-the-scenes drama.
6. Stargate SG-1: Alliances by Karen Miller: another pretty good SG1 novel.
5. Stargate SG-1: Sacrifice Moon by Julie Fortune: pretty good for the genre.
4. Chasing Life by Sanjay Gupta: No news, but good advice on health.
3. The Way We Talk Now by Geoffrey Nunberg: dated.
2. Blindsided: Lifting a Life above Illness: a reluctant memoir by Richard M. Cohen: bad; seriously, if you don't want to say anything about yourself, don't write a memoir.
1. You Cannot Be Serious by John McEnroe: a bit of fun, a bit of funny (unintentionally).
