*Why isn't there any store that has hooded cloaks? The most he can find are short hooded coats of sorts, but those won't fit over his armor, and then there are these short shawls that are never deep enough to accommodate his neck guard.

Preoccupied with the above, he doesn't even notice the fort in progress until he spots Castle's movement. He stops and watches for a moment. He's so confused he has to speak up.*

What are you doing?

[Castle gives Enoch a cheery wave.]

Preparing for the inevitable throwing of snowballs, of course.

Sorry for the delayed reply. Work is killing me this week. x_x warriorscribe December 14 2011, 09:05:02 UTC
Snowball throwing?

*Enoch has seen snow from Heaven and there was some snow on the silver mountain between Heaven and Earth, but he's never seen people play in it.*

No worries, I know how that goes bloody_pens December 14 2011, 15:55:52 UTC
Yup! Snow is awfully pretty to watch, but it's even more fun to play in.

Oh, a mock fight. *Enoch chuckles a bit at that. Of course.* I haven't lived somewhere I could see snow in a long time.

Yeah! Snowballs are pretty harmless, so they're perfect for a guy like me.

[Castle dusts his hands.]

Oh, that's a shame. I look forward to it every winter... I hope this lasts for a while.

*Enoch can't help but smile at the self-deprecation.* So do I. It's cold, but it's certainly different. And very beautiful.

Sure is- and where I came from, I was in the middle of a city, so there wasn't a forest to appreciate. Just wish there was enough to build snowmen to go along with my fort, but snowballs to supplement the defenses will do.

*Not that there's too much forest here, but Enoch can sympathize with forests being relatively scarce for the majority of one's life. Any is better than none.*

You're expecting a challenge?

Nope! I just do this for fun. Aside from rebuilding, exploring and the fun of seeing what my food's going to taste like today, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot else to do here.

I'll agree with that. I'm not used to needing to try so hard to avoid being idle.

[Castle lets out a small sigh, remembering Ryuzaki's request for help solving a murder.]

It doesn't help that there's still such a small population here. And that we seem to be spread out so far- I've run into people and never spoken to them a second time.

We might be able to learn more if we can gather, but the wall would make that difficult.

*And there might not be reaching the people who don't know the second level exists, and not everyone might be able to use it for as long as others... Enoch is from an era where communication was more limited than many others here, but this is pushing it even for him.*

There's that, too. You know, I wonder... that wall bothers me, too. The first time I met Gamzee, he was trying to push his way through it, while I could pass through it freely, with no sign of it there either way. What makes some of us able to see it and be unable to pass through it, while others can't?

I wish I knew. I can see and feel the wall, but my friend can't...

[Castle rubs the back of his head.]

I wouldn't be surprised if this place is screwing with us for its own amusement, honestly. I mean, it's already brought us here for some purpose it has yet to reveal.
