I did this one, too. ^_^ I came out as a pretty solid moderate, which is accurate enough. I want to try to balance the good and bad. Idealistically, I would love for socialism to work. Unfortunately, I don't believe that it ever would, because people goof it all up. :-/

Yeah, that's why I take issue with my results. I'm not quite sure how being for partially socialized programs AND the free market somehow make me socialist. Capitalism, socialism, communism...each one has it's idealistic roots, but any government completely devoted to one of these systems is destined for failure. And, then, even if a compromise can someday be reached, I'm not sure that it will amount to much. No matter what your economic system, it seems that power has a tendency to make the people in charge vulnerable to greed, or, at least, looking out for their own interests and the interests of those they hold dear, over the interests of others.

Yeah, I think we just need a fair play capitalist system (free trade with a safety net, with the ideal being a middle class, small buisiness oriented society). I think if we had a lot more sunshine laws and open government, a little more direct democracy (like on constitutional amendments and as a final step on supreme court nominations), regulations on corporate media ownership (like, a statement on all channels during station identification and before programs telling people what parent corporation (all the way up the chain) paid for it, and one every thirty minutes on the 24 hour news channels), we could probably have ourselves a nice government ( ... )
