My prayers go out to the families and friends of those killed and injured..lillian78April 15 2013, 22:50:55 UTC
WCVB has reported that one of the dead was a eight year old child. Who can be evil enough, insane enough or angry enough to have done such a terrible act? Please God let them be caught and let justice prevail for such a heinous, cowardly act.
I was thinking of you when I came in from the garden and saw the news. While I knew you weren't running the marathon I sort of figured you'd have friends in Boston who were.
Like you I'm thinking positive thoughts for all those injured and the families, friends of those who have perished.
You're welcome. London UK? Good for you? The news was just saying that they're going to raise the security for it. I'll be thinking good thoughts your way at the appropriate time.
I understand the urge to do something, anything to give the finger to the perpetrators of this senseless act.
To be honest, not much makes sense in the world these days. There just too much senseless violence everywhere.
I have a pair of friends that live and work in Boston, one of whom is a member of the running community and has volunteered at the event before. Another friend and I immediately started tracking them down when we heard the news. Fortunately G took the year off from helping since she's quite pregnant, and was safely miles away at work. Her husband's office was only a block away from the finish line, but he was safe and is on his way home now, along with everyone else from his office for the day. The whole thing is just so senseless. *shudders*
I don't condone terrorism under any circumstances, but yeah, this seems even more pointless than usual. There's nothing political about a marathon! What other goal could be achieved than general upset and mourning? And if that's the goal... well yeah, I've got some choice words for such people.

But you know, I can't believe someone would do this. I'm just so stunned by it. It just doesn't make sense to me.

I'll need good thoughts, I'm hoping to do well. I'm starting near the back. :-) I'm slow.
You know, I agree, nothing much makes sense. Especially the gun lobby, who won't give an inch on gun control.

It is completely senseless. I don't understand what anyone hopes to accomplish. This is a sporting event!

I know. I'm just sick about it. It is such a great race, and someone sucked all the joy for everyone out of it today. It breaks my heart.
::hugs you::
