There were quite a few anti-Twilight SDCC goers (I'm mostly looking at you, anime kiddies) this year, who claimed that Twilight ruined SDCC.
Twilight did not ruin SDCC. Let me repeat - Twilight did NOT ruin the Con. Yes, the Twilighters were insane and camped out even longer than the Hero fans last year, which means the first 2 panels in Hall H on Friday were Twilight kiddies only. And, yes, I understand that the books & movie suck (I haven't read/seen either myself). However, here's 2 things these people need to keep in mind:
A) At least kids are reading. They'll grow more sophisticated taste at some point... probably.
B) They came to see their panel, and then they left. It was quite nice being in the dealer's room Saturday. You could actually move around in it.
These kiddies did not need to carry around signs Saturday night during Masquerade saying that Twilight ruined ComicCon. It didn't even come close.
They also did not need to wear this
horrible Hate Speech of a shirt announcing that "Twilight is Gay". No one says that they need to like the movie/books or the fandom.
But if they want to make their views known, they need to do it without making derogatory remarks about homosexuals. That kind of speech is never "cool", good, or worthwhile.
