In my opinion, you speak more to me than 90% of the people that I have ever met. But you speak to me through your visual works of art. I can, and have, gazed upon drawings, paintings and photographs of yours for five to ten minutes over the course of the last few years. Each time I meditate upon your art, they speak to me. Perhaps they tell me a little about you and a lot about myself, but they speak to me nevertheless. In the past I've gone through your flickr account and just go through the photographs that you take of places and people. I don't know these people and am likely never to meet them. But it’s the way in which you take the pictures, the way you perceive the world around you, the way you frame the world, which is very interesting to me. You have gifted me with two prints of yours which we hang in our home and which I love. So, you may be an introvert, but you have always spoken volumes to me.
But writing the above, I want to express this point - you are perfect exactly as you are. There is no need for you to be any more extroverted because others say you ought to. Your online communication skills come out with thoughtful posts, with words of poetry, with the lyrics that you share (death cab for cutie's "I will follow you into the Dark" is one stunning example) and, as mentioned above, the art that you share. If your concern was/is how other people perceive you, then perhaps this reply can provide a counter-point, or a differing opinion to the discussion.
Thanks, Helios, I really appreciate your words of encouragement. It's nice to know all that!
And it's really cool you used my print for your icon :))
I do have to add though, that the people I know in RL, are not into art, and will never look at my flickr pics, you know. To have a relationship with the average joe, requires conversation. :/
If you asked inquisitivelove about me socializing with people, she would tell you what she tells everyone: Fred doesn't talk to people. My wife is the extroverted one. Everyone who I have initially met in RL are people who I have known at least 9 or 10 years and I can count all of them on my hands with fingers to spare. :) So, I guess we are cut from the same cloth.
