Oh, this is *darling* and I particular adore Andres and Victor's BFFery. And man, I'm starting to think I really do need to look up the story behind Figo and Guardiola, it sounds pretty damn epic.

hee! :) thank you. Andres and Victor BFFL! though oh god, Pep and Figo. I can point you towards some resources if you like but basically Figo played for Barcelona for five years, he was vice-captain and the fans loved him and he was really good friends with Pep, and then out of the blue he transferred to Real Madrid. tears of blood, screaming, rending of garments, etc, the fans threw a pig's head at him during the next Clasico, it was pretty ugly. Pep apparently forgave him but I don't think the fans ever will. (but man, talk about an epic love story.)

...oh my God, we're talking about THAT Figo? Haha, I vaguely remember his name from this giant post on ontd_football basically detailing ALL THE BIG RIVALRIES and seriously, he went to Real Madrid? Was there, like, EVER an explanation of that? I mean, of course he can do what he likes, it's a pipe dream to think that all the players are going to feel the loyalty that the fans do, but...you'd think sheer self-preservation would have him picking another team. Any other team. YEESH.

oh, I know about Cesc and Phil. my first introduction to Cesc was as the Arsenal player, I only found out about the Barça backstory later. I approved very much of Phil! cooking for Cesc and everything. ♥ sadface that he has sort of vanished off the face of the earth.

i rarely read much barca fic unless i know it'll be good, for obvious reasons, but this. huge fucking smile of glee on my face every time victor showed up. and andres and xavi. oh lord. i have so much love for all of this. and the fabregas/messi/pique mention. i can't even properly articulate to you how much i love this.

I mean, he's awesome and I love him! but you'd think he'd be right after Messi on the list of Top Ten Most Hated Current Cules. and Messi doesn't have an attitude. jaja we're allowed to love on victor, he plays for la roja, too! ;) hmm i feel like messi doesn't show up on the most hated cules list very often? maybe that's just my experience, but it tends to be pique at the top most of the time.

good thing he got that call-up this summer, huh? XP and awww, who could hate Pique, he's such a big oaf. I feel bad sometimes for reducing him to the dumb jock stereotype when he seems really well-spoken in press conferences and does great charity work, but man, it's so easy.
