Also?

"Defend a fucking title for once," Novak said, without heat.

"Like you?" Rafa replied. "I defend plenty, cabron."

GLEE.

Although I was supremely confused when I read Jelena because I thought it was Jankovic and I was out of it for a couple minutes until I saw "Jelena and Ana and JJ" and then I was like oooooooooooooooh!

it is exceedingly inconvenient that his girlfriend has the same name as JJ! especially since I don't know what their proper nicknames are. but I read somewhere that her mom cheers for her as JJ so I figured it was close enough. ~shrug~

I actually really loved this. I enjoyed the little things in it the most, Novak having coffee with Ana, Janko not speaking to him, and Rafa's broken English because it's so true. The line about defending titles? GENIUS. I laughed so much at that.

Just two things. The US Open has a tiebreak in the fifth set so the score couldn't have ended up 10-8 in the fifth. And at the US Open, the mens semis are played the day before the final, so Rafa wouldn't have had a day to rest.

thank you! oh, huh, weird on the Slams not all being the same format. seriously they play the final the day after the semis? that's harsh. (relative newness to fandom is showing, sorry!)
