Yeah, see, the show itself absolutely looks like something I wouldn't touch at all... if it didn't have Paul. It's possible I will agree with your assessment re: badness. (Just... ABC, why!? Why so terrible?)
Can't know until I try it, I guess...
Edit: pretend I could spell the first time around...
Eastwick reminds me of a supernatural version of Desperate Housewives, which I can't abide.
To me the stink is just too much to bear, but many people like that kind of nonsense and can overlook the bad to get to Paul. Did I mention how good he looks?
I don't find Eastwick embarrassing at all, and I'm actually enjoying watching it. It's cheesy, yes, but in an entertaining way. For the record, my embarrassment problem is small-to-medium, and I won't watch dull/bad TV for anyone, not even Paul. (Of course, my definitions of 'dull' and 'bad' may not match yours...)
Heeeeeeee! See how my definitions do not match your other respondent(s).
My embarrassment squick is random and inexplicable! But suffice it to say, there are STILL parts of dS I have never watched because I can't deal with the awkward. Some kinds of ridiculousness just pings me wrong.
And it seems as if I'm just going to have to try this and see. I've probably seen worse!
It didn't cross my mind to be embarrassed by Eastwick - I think the fact that he's having fun is the overwhelming thing. My all time "I cannot watch this, not for anything" PG encounter was XXXs & OOOs. I think I even deleted it from my hard drive, and I'm generally pretty obsessive about keeping stuff.
Paul is having THE BEST FUN EVER as far as I can see. (I watched the first ep last night.) I can't make up my mind if I'm embarrassed or not. I spent a lot of time cooing at Jamie-Lee Newman and wondering if PG was going to avail himself of every opportunity to get naked (Answer: Probably, yes.) so I wasn't really paying full attention. I'm going to give it a few episodes at least. I suggest you suck it and see. (Paul would no doubt enjoy that.)
I think PG is the best part of the show which is predictable and totally banal so far. It's a show you can watch while ironing or folding clothes, just look up when it gets interesting. It means to be so simple and shallow from the start that I cannot be disappointed or embarrassed that it sucks mostly.
I would totally recommend that you watch Eastwick. Nothing embarrassing to be found as far as I can see, just Paul having THE MOST FUN EVER RECORDED. And honestly, I don't even think it's that bad a show. Especially because it doesn't seem like Paul is the only one having the most fun.
My favorite YouTube Billy Mays dub is the mighty putty one. The amount of times in my life that I want to attribute something to "fucking green to white technology" is kind of excessive.
Ahahahaa. I love that one, too. But I think the "someone put their dick on this thing!" actually killed me. I was, like, having to hold myself up when I first saw that. Could not even breathe.

Though I will say, that he is, of course, the best part of the show and looking quite handsome.
It's just the show is just plain rotten.

Maybe you could mute the sound until he comes on?
Still, I give it a pass, no thanks.

I... will probably have to hide from it a lot, but it might be the fun kind. IDK.
