I like writing fanfic! I love sharing it with fangirls. It's my HOBBY. Also, wtf, how is it destroying the canon? I'm pretty sure due South isn't going to be significantly altered by my making Kowalski and Vecchio have a lot of hot boysex. CONSIDERING THE SHOW IS OVER AND STUFF.
...not to mention, my original stuff? Such a niche genre that if I ever published it, four people would read it. ::giggles:: And I would probably make a grand total of $.06
Not that I don't think people should write original stuff and publish, because I do, obvs! I just don't understand why having a hobby you do for FUN is so AWFUL, y'know?

YES. DUDE. I am just starting to really rebel against the bullshittery of this POV! And it is EVERYWHERE, and I've been guilty of it myself, and I understand the impulse from the outside perspective--you love it, so why wouldn't you want to make it your job? But dude. HOBBIES ARE GOOD. I LIKE THEM. Jobs bring all sorts of other shit with them, the tension between art and commerce, etc. etc. etc.. IT IS OKAY TO DO SOMETHING JUST BECAUSE YOU ENJOY IT. IT REALLY REALLY IS.

YES. Like high stress! I mean, I fundraise for a cause I find very worthy and believe in very strongly and I do that FOR A LIVING, and I just woke up from a thirty-minute nap on my office "couch" because I'm working NINE 12-HOUR DAYS IN A ROW.
I KIND OF LIKE MY HOBBIES TO BE RELAXING, THANK YOU KINDLY.
