Today was the Mifflin Street Block Party. It's the second biggest event in Madison after Halloween.
Historically, it is supposed to to be a political protest/ venue for like minded students to get together, exchange ideas, and have a good time. Today, it's a drunken mess.
I passed a. because I don't like drinking in the morning/ early afternoon, b. because I have too many other things to do, and c. because I'd rather not get a giant ticket/ arrested. Maybe next year. Maybe.
The plan was to be productive all morning and then relax at Andy's BBQ this evening. It didn't exactly work that way because I failed to get up until after noon. However, I have been really productive in the past six hours. I have: cleaned my room, cleaned the rest of the apartment, done laundry, baked brownies, gone to the gym, and bought conditioner. whoo! Tomorrow = gym and HOMEWORK.
I did have a really good time at Andy's BBQ (and only consumed one bottle of beer.) The company, conversation, and food were all great. I wish we were able to do cook outs more often.
Fun BBQ anecdote: While some of use were outside by the grill chatting this ridiculously drunk neighbor stumbled over to offer his larger grill to us. It took him about there minutes to say 2 sentences but at least he was a considerate, harmless drunk. Or so we thought. About ten minutes later his friend turned up bleeding. Apparently, drunk-ass had pulled out a knife and was just fucking around. His friend thought he was serious as drunk-ass was drunk out of his mind. So he out up his had in defense and got stabbed in the hand. We cleaned him up and he was fine but my god. I tell you that kid would be off my Christmas card list. Exciting post-Mifflin times.
One more week of all nighters and then a few days of rest. I. CAN'T. WAIT.
