Going Under the Knife Mixed With Old Boyfriends

Jan 05, 2010 17:02

On Wednesday, Joe goes into surgery.  Wait?  That’s tomorrow.  Okay then, tomorrow Joe has his surgery.  We spent today meeting the surgeon and filling out paperwork.

After that, we stopped at a restaurant and got something to eat.  It’s here that my story starts.  It’s not much of a story, really, but I’m telling it anyway.

I ran into an old ( Read more... )

First, and most important, you're not pathetic. Second, what would be the point in contacting him? Let the past be. Thirdly . . . uh . . . you don't need an excuse to not talk to someone you recall the relationship did not "end well." But if you insist, use this one, "I'm wiser." If he wants to think ill of you, that's his right. Is it really going to impact you, your life today? I hope not.

I will send positive thoughts up for your husband's surgery. ((((HUGS)))) to both of you.

It will have NO impact on my life at all. I felt bad for acting the way I did today and wanted to apologize,(hence, the small and short-lived thought of looking him up) but by the time I got my entry written that "panic" had passed.

Srsly, if you don't stop handing out so much good therapy to me I'm gonna have to start paying you. ;-)

Regarding the surgery: the lady who did his blood work today said this surgeon has actually performed this same procedure in less than 12 minutes before. Wow.

Twelve minutes??!! It takes me longer to eat a lollipop. Jeez!

My friends always get me for free . . . and believe it or not, what I said was me just being me.

If it makes you feel any better, if I ever ran into my old boyfriend, I'd want very much to punch him in the face, but since I suck at confrontations, I'd just run away instead.

Hope Joe's surgery goes okay.

Yes, but your old boyfriend deserves to be punched in the face. ;-) This guy isn't a bad guy and, actually, I treated him like CRAP. I used to do that every so often. ;-) Too bad I never ran into your old boyfriend when I was in one of my moods to treat a guy like crap.

Good luck on the surgery. Get some sleep. Good thoughts and prayers coming ya'lls way.
At least you remembered his first name. I would have probably forgotten the whole thing.

One night I met this guy and we talked for several hours. He asked for my number. I gave it to him. The next day he called and during the conversation he finally burst out, "You don't even remember my name, do you?"

LOL!

I didn't. We did end up going out a few times, but I seriously can't remember his name now no matter how hard I try.

I'm sorry for the rough day. And I 2nd that you're not pathetic. You shouldn't ever have to talk to ex's.

p.s. I am seriously disturbed that I have known Fandoria for YEARS and I do not know exactly why I should also want to punch her ex in the face, though I have my ideas.

Thank you! Actually, I'm pretty good friends with a lot of my ex-boyfriends and wouldn't want any of them to think that they'd make me feel this way. ;-) This particular one I only dated a couple months so I don't really know why I freaked like I did. I guess today was just an off day for me. :-) Must have been the freezing temps outside. They made me grumpy.
