Day 1 - RL ramblings

So, for universe_the, we have to post on 10 consecutive days. If I do that, I will have surpassed my post total for all of last year, I think. I'm going to ramble for today, but like others doing this challenge, if anyone has anything they want me to talk about (like top 5s or other random Tumblr memes), feel free to poke me with them

Thanks for the cat update, I was wondering what happened, but I didn't want to bother you, in case you're not talking about it for a reason.
An update would have been nice, so ... glad to see one now ;D

When's the wedding going to be?

I didn't want to post anything right away because it was touch and go for awhile and I didn't really breathe easily until his follow up appointment the following week. And then it seemed kinda late to post especially as I didn't know if anyone would actually care about it. So I never ended up posting anything.

She's not exactly sure. She wants it either August 23rd or a date in September that I don't remember next year. However, they are having issues finding a venue for either date, so that might change.

It was so not thrilling. My life is seriously work, reading, and some playing on the internet. I really have no idea what these next 9 posts are going to be. :P

Ah, okay.
So in about a year, I guess that leaves enough time for planning things ;D

But isn't that how it is for everyone? Work/School, things on the internet, maaaaybe some social things...
Some people are just great at making it sound super interesting :D

Except I rarely post, so therefore rarely need to worry about updates. :P

Yeah. She already has her dress purchased. And she has a lot of the little things figured out already. (Like she got her toasting glasses from the Czech Republic when she went there on vacation a month or so ago.) She might already have the bridesmaids' dresses picked out; it just depends on how we look in them/what we think of them. What she really wants to do is to have her reception at the stadium. (Her fiance is a vice president there.) She has all kinds of ideas of what she wants to do with that. (Like water bottle favors.) But her fiance is not sure he wants to have the reception where he works. She's trying to talk him into it. :D

LOL. True. People also do some television show discussion, but I usually just comment on theirs rather than making my own.

Yeah, exactly.
For me it depends, sometimes I join in other people's discussions, and don't post about it in my own, sometimes I do both, and sometimes I simply don't post about things I watch *LOL* :D

I really don't think my posts would be at all interesting, but maybe I'll post more regularly after this challenge. We'll see. :P

She totally does. She loves planning things. She has a planner that she carries with her everywhere that is like two and a half inches thick, and that was before the wedding stuff! (I think she said she is using a different planner for wedding stuff.) She seriously asks for organizational stuff for Christmas gifts every year. :D

For awhile I wasn't doing a good job of keeping up with the posts of others, so I wasn't talking about shows at all, really. But for a month or so, I've been much better about keeping up with my flist, so I'm hoping to continue that. Maybe I'll even post some television thoughts in my LJ when the new season starts. Although I'm not all that excited about the new season, so maybe not. :P

I've been a total post slacker for a month *lol*
I had things planned out in my head, and then my mood changed, and I didn't want to post in that mood, and I'm still sort of in that mood... BUT my goal was to post after a months again, so that challenge comes at a good time for me *lol*

You could even tell us what you tried, and liked/didn't like.
I mean, friends help friends! Don't let us watch bad television! ;D

She is slightly insane in that regard. She admits it. Seriously everyone jokes about her planner. My mother goes to the same dermatologist as my sister does and when my mother mentioned her name, the nurse went "oh, the girl with the planner!" :D

As I've been pretty good with my flist over that time period, I noticed. I like this challenge. I don't know what I'm going to say, but I like that I now have a reason to say something. And I like that I'll get posts from people that I don't often hear from.

Except my views so aren't the same as those of most of my flist. At least based on what I've seen a lot of people talking about! (I'm sure all of, oh, no one will be interested in the Haven post I'm going to make on Saturday after its premiere this week.)

I know Tash watches it. I didn't think Vai did. I knew Dragana did. Did not know Rebecca did. Thought you did, but wasn't sure. And I said not the same as "most" of the people on my flist. Not "all". :P It's just that the shows I tend to see people squeeing and talking about I don't generally care for. Some I watch, but they aren't shows I'd usually want to talk about. *shrug* It's not a big deal. Everyone has different tastes. :)

Thing is, it's unlikely that you'll EVER hit your whole flist while talking about a movie/tv show/book. There will always be at least one person who hasn't heard of it, or who isn't interested.

I'm fine with at least one person who hasn't heard of it/who isn't interested. I'm more assuming that it would be the exact opposite, with maybe one person who is interested. :P Of course, it doesn't help that a lot of my flist is inactive now. So there are fewer people to talk to.

Yeah... but they might always come back. I had recently 3 people post entries who I thought are gone forever.
It doesn't help to add to the "silence" either. It just confirms that "LJ is dead" to people, even though we are around, and reading, and leaving comments.

I did have one person come back and make like one post, so I suppose there is hope.

And I'm not actively choosing to add to the silence. I just have nothing to say! Although I will try better, I guess.
