Layout help

Jan 21, 2008 21:09

So, I decided that I was bored with my layout, as I'd had it for a year and a half. smilla02 had made me a La Femme Nikita icon that I liked a lot, so I decided to create a header and layout around the icon. (Although, I did, for a second, consider using a current/active fandom. *grin*) I currently have a header up, but I made two additional versions, ( Read more... )

I like option 1 but you need to fix your header size because the top of it is getting cut off. At least it is on my computer. :\ And no, sorry, I don't know how to fix the comments part. :\

It doesn't look cut off on my screen. Where is it cutting off on your screen? I don't even have a clue how to fix that, as it is the same 300 pixels as my last header was, and I used the same coding to insert it. *sigh*

The top of the image from the middle of her nose (in the lefthand picture) up.

And it is probably the fault of this [profanity] widescreen monitor that I actually kind of hate.

Do you have a navigation bar up top? because that could possibly do it. I've changed the header to move it down 30 pixels, but I don't know if I like that. Does it fix it for you, though? If it does, I might keep it like that.

I also like the first header, but I wouldn't have a clue how to customise the comment page D:

Also, that icon is really awesome :D

Thanks for the feedback.

Isn't the icon wonderful? As soon as I saw it when smilla02 made it for me, I knew that I wanted to have it be my default. Despite the fact I had told myself that my next header/layout would involve at least one active fandom. Oh well. *grin*

I didn't read the previous comments, but my eyes caught just a sentence of one of them, so now I know I'm not the only one: I'd definitely go with n. 1. It's simple, in a way that I enjoy, and the pics and the text stand out beautifully.
I wish i could leave a header without any of all the mess I put inside of it any time I work on one! It goes beyond my control, then, when i see someone else's job, i know that 'less is more'.

I like busy headers and icons at times, but I just cannot usually do them. My standard style is typically rather simple and uncluttered. I had actually planned at one point to do a busier one combining fandoms, but it never happened. Thanks for your input.

I have to admit I like the header with the two pictures you're using right now ( ... )

*sigh* Thanks for that, but I cannot get it to compile without errors. I'm sure there is a way to do it; I just cannot figure it out with my minimal HTML experience. I'm debating about having the background be a very dark grey instead of black. That might work, even if I don't like the overall effect as much. So, I changed the background to a dark-ish grey from inside the pictures. I like the black better, but at least now it is possible to see the back writing when commenting. I was trying to strike a balance between light enough to read the black writing, and dark enough to read the gold writing above. I think it is good enough now.

Let's try. Umm good. I think it's a good compromise, the links looks good and it's not so hard writing the comment anymore. I like.
Good night, sweetie!

Thanks for commenting. I may (not admitting anything here *grin*) have gotten so pissed off about the situation that while I tried to be nice in the comment, I ranted like Hell in a f-locked post (not naming names, though, because I would never be that petty). Thank God my friends all seem to be of the same mindset as I am, because I really needed to vent, and thought I might have been over-reacting. One of my complaints seemed to be that no one else seemed to be at all upset by it, but since then a couple of people have commented and you commented here, so at least I know I'm not alone anymore ( ... )
