A woman, a martyr, was burning at the stake and an angel wrapped its arms around her completely surrounding her body. The angel was not burned, but the woman continued to be consumed. But the expression on her face was not one of anguish, but peace. That is not to say that she would not die or even perhapse that she wasn't in horrible pain, but there was no sign of pain. In fact her eyes expressed intense pleasure. The angel did not remove the pain, nor did he change the fact that death was the end result. The pleasure and peace given to her was more than sufficient and that mercy made the pain and death immaterial, it was no longer the main point, but an after thought. The joy and wonder of the prescence of God surrounding her was so intense that the rest of the world pailed away in compairison.
Pain happens, death happens, but the joy and peace that God alone can give creates a life seperate from all that, that is so consuming it is as though the other life doesn't exist. No pain can conquor the pleasure, when the Peace Giver is the focal point of your life. ~M~
