Grrr!
This kid doesn't want to come out!!!!! I went in for my recent Dr. apt. They said that from the ultrasound he's estimated to be between 8 and 9 1/2 lbs! But that's only an estimate. Since it doesn't appear that he's going to come out before tomorrow (the due date), next Tuesday and Friday to have a biophysical done. Basically it's a routine thing they do for when a woman is overdue with her pregnancy. It's nothing to worry about. For more info on it go here.
After that, they'll do an ultrasound to check on the amniotic fluid around him then I'll see the Dr. right after. Now, Because he is bigger than the average infant, they don't want me going 10 days past my due date. This means that if he doesn't come this week, I'll be going in on the evening of the 19th and they will do a cervical on me. From what the nurse told me, a cervical is where they put some kind of sting thing around the opening of my cervix and this will ripen it. That'll take about 12 hours, so since they're having me come in the evening and it'll take that long, they're just going to give me a sleeping pill and knock my ass out. Once the 12 hours is up, they will start me on pitocin... guess what that means? Yup, I'll be in labor!!! Only sucky thing is, guess what week that is? Yup it's Turkey week. He'll more than likely be here on the 20th and then we'll be home that wednesday evening, or on Thanksgiving morning. Which means I won't be going anywhere for Thanksgiving. Mom said that if that's the case, then we'll just have Thanksgiving over here instead of going to Gram's or out with Grandma and Grandpa. Might even be able to talk Grandma and Grandpa to not going out to the Surf and Turf this year, lol.
