I went to go see The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey last night with
sideshow_ericka since she wanted to see it again and I wanted to see it, period. Given the scope of the film, and of course various additions and expansions to make it mesh better with the Lord of the Rings trilogy, it's definitely one of those movies that's best seen in theaters.
We went to a 9:00 PM showing, which meant that there were only a few people in the theater. I got a small bag of popcorn because I knew I'd get hungry and a small bottle of water so I could take my various pills at 9. I enjoyed it, liking the overall feel of the additions from the appendices from the Lord of the Rings and other supplemental materials, which again ties it in better with the trilogy. As we left the theater I knew I was ready to re-read the book.
In other news my new medications are helping me breathe better, but I'm still coughing. It's not nearly as bad nor as frequent as it was, but it's still niggling. Of course I've only been on the medication for less than a week, and I'm supposed to assess how I feel after a month. So far everything's fine, except the Flonase makes me really fuzzy for about an hour after I take it before it clears up and I'm fine.
Husband also scheduled eye appointments for me and him next week. I haven't had an actual eye exam in over a decade (I want to say my dad got me an exam when we were down in Miami for a visit because I had casually mentioned I hadn't had one since I was ten and that had been six or seven years prior), so clearly it's time. I don't think I need glasses (I can tell the grass still has individual blades), but a full exam certainly isn't going to hurt anything.
