First up my
Life Clock results, which is interesting but in no way the concrete truth of how long I'll actually live:
Summary
Your Age: 26.7 years
Projected Life Span (total years you will live): 94.9
Projected Life Expectancy (years remaining): 68.2
Life Expectancy Factors
The average life span for your region is 78. You are expected to live 16.9 years longer than average due to your health and lifestyle.
GENDER: +2.5 years
Women live 5 years longer than men. Gloat if you like.
FAMILY HISTORY: 7 years
Your family history rewards you with a few extra years. Remember to thank your mom.
SMOKING: 2 years
Since you are not a smoker you gain 2 years over the average life span (15-25 years longer than smokers). If you recently stopped smoking it will take 10 years for the risk of lung cancer to return to that of a non-smoker and 15 for heart attack risk to return to normal.
DRINKING: 0 years
You could benifit from drinking one or two glasses of red wine per day
WEIGHT: -1 years (BMI: 27.3)
Your BMI score classifies you as overweight. Being overweight raises your risk of heart disease, diabetes, cancers, sleep apnea, osteoarthritis, gallbladder disease, and so many other conditions. Now put down the twinky and go do some exercise.
HEALTH: 0 years
Keep living right and maybe you will never have to worry about hypertension, cholesterol, and blood sugar levels.
DIET: -1 years
I won't lecture you on what foods you should be eating. I'm sure you already know. Is 1 years of life worth the sacrifice? Your choice.
EXERCISE: 1 years
Exercising 20-40 minutes each day can add many years to your life.
HAPPINESS: 2 years
As Emerson said, "Happiness is a perfume you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself." Keep smiling :)
EDUCATION: 1 years
Not surprisingly, higher education equals longer life.
DRIVING: 2 years
You're no fool. The average person has a 30% chance of being in a serious accident in their lifetime but your odds are lower than average.
Since Maria is getting married at Voodoo Doughnut in March, we went up with our friends
sideshow_ericka and Sabrina to pay for the wedding (and buy a couple of boxes of doughnuts), scout the Indian restaurant where she wants to have the reception dinner, then decided to play at
Powell's (which is a MASSIVE used book store), meet up with
chaosblue and
irkdesu for dinner and chatting. We stayed at one of the airport hotels (meaning that every so often a plane landing or taking off would fly right overhead), which was quite nice (and cheap!). After breakfast we went to
OMSI and played for a couple of hours before leaving.
On the way home we hopped onto Historic Highway 30 because Maria has never done the Waterfall Trail. We stopped at Multnomah Falls on our way into Portland to use the restroom and take a quick gander at the falls, and switched out drivers (I was tired, I needed a break, and wasn't feeling nearly aggressive enough to deal with Portland drivers). As I drove us home I hit the first Highway 30 exit and drove us up to Vista House, and then along the Waterfall Trail stopping at Latourell Falls, Wahkeena Falls, Multnomah again (just to potty, though), and Horsetail. We waved at Bridal Veil because that's a monster hike to get to the viewing platform (unlike the others which are either a short hike or visible from the road), and decided that this summer we'd like to camp in one of the camp grounds along Highway 30 and then spend a week hiking around the falls. Guess this means I need to get my ass on the treadmill on an incline and in my hiking boots.
Driving home wasn't so bad, at least until we got past the Dalles and found out that it had been snowing. The road was a bit slick, so we slowed down to a crawl in some places (at least going a respectable 40, and even then I was being passed by semis), but once we made it into Washington found the roads dry and clear and I started hauling ass again. That is until we found the car with the sparks coming from under it. Needless to say I slowed way, way down again and was perfectly content to hang back until we saw them make the exit to Finley. Heh. Figures. Anyway we made it back to Ericka and Maria's place, dropped them off (and Sabrina unloaded her stuff from my car and then loaded it into hers which was parked right out front), and then I went home.
My husband took pity on me (and was keeping an eye out, as Ericka posted on Facebook that she had made it home and he knew I wouldn't be too much longer) and helped me unload the car, grabbing the bulk of the luggage while I grabbed my purchases from Powell's (I found four out of print Victoria Holt novels and the Politically Correct Bedtime Stories collection) and my box of Voodoo Doughnuts (The Magic is in the Hole!). Once everything was inside I marveled at how clean the apartment was (according to my husband internet porn is only entertaining for so long), the new set up of our entertainment center (he built a small case for the center channel speaker and now the TV sits on top of that), and ate a Dirt Doughnut while slowly filling him in on our exploits from the last couple of days. After that I took a bath, put my PJs on, then had a cup of tea while catching up on my online life. I crashed not long after that, but with my mind racing I talked to my husband some more before I finally passed out from exhaustion.
This morning I woke up at just after eight, feeling relaxed and refreshed. I decided to forgo exercising this morning and instead got a cup of coffee and Voodoo Doughnut (seriously, those things are ridiculously good), then watched the news in an attempt to get caught up on everything I missed while being disconnected all weekend. I also vacuumed and dusted the apartment because apparently those were the only things my husband didn't do while I was gone.
Tonight I have another KNRC fundraiser meeting, and I need to go pow-wow with
travellyr to make sure we're getting the requisite number of donations, and if that means I'm baking five cakes and a couple of pies, so be it. It's not like I don't have the time. And I'm a major freak and I love to bake anyway. And I'm pretty sure I could borrow my mother's cake decorating supplies.
I think I'm gonna sit down with a book in an attempt to try and get some quiet time. I've spent the last 48-60 hours in the constant company of people and I'm seriously craving some alone time.
And tea.
And before I forget - DUDE, WHAT THE HELL IS WITH THE SEAHAWKS?! Not that I'm going to complain much, a win is a win, but holy shit they mowed over the Who Dat nation (and even caused a minor earthquake).
