Ah! So my birthday came and went this last weekend, and I was really bummed to be away from family and friends. So instead of being depressed, this weekend I went to Winter Park, though, to do this wild alpine sled that goes through the mountains and down the hill. It was *awesome!* And then I rented a mountain bike and took the chairlift to the very top and rode down the blue trail like a maniac. I didn't want to rent all the stinky pads, because the full face helmets smelled like ass and the rest of the stuff even worse, so I had my skateboarding pads and helmet in the car and just wore them. About halfway down the hill, though, I realized the wisdom of the full face helmet! And the forearm guards! And the shin guards! I've never seen so many rocks and trees and dropoffs chasing me! It was fun, though, and I'm totally hooked. Next season, I'm definitely getting a dual suspension mountain bike.
Last week, I bought a sweet little cruiser bike and have been doing the cruiser rides in Boulder. 500 people riding through the street in costume yelling, "Happy Thursday!" It's so pointless, I love it!
Here's a pic from this weekend. I have a new monitor, and it's widescreen and seems to distort everything, so this pic may come out all wompy.
