Odd feelings
For some reason, I feel obligated to say something about Steve Irwin's death. I rarely pay attention to the deaths of famous persons. In fact, if you were to ask certain friends and family, I probably don't pay enough attention to the deaths of people I know, though for the most part, I just don't show any outward emotions. Every once in a whiile, a brilliant musician or a spectacular journalist or an influential politician will die, and I'll have a brief feeling of "They will be missed".
And yet, here is this man whose movie I still haven't seen, whose show I've seen maybe three episodes of, and whose work I've heard about, but, to be entirely honest, I know little of, and yet for some strange reason, I actually feel a certain pang of loss for him.
Is it perhaps because I feel an acute loss for a man who may very well have been slightly more crazy than even I?
