NOw that my week of solitude is almost complete, I shall reflect on it:
Sunday (before Dan left on his trip) I had a slight breakdown that was partially brought on by the thought of having to stay at the house alone all week and partially feeling that I would miss Dan a lot! Dan was quite understanding of this (once he figured out I didn't want him to say "don't worry, you'll be fine") and cuddled with me and made chocolate milk for me. That made me feel better.
Monday: got up early to drive dan to school (so he could leave his truck here so people wouldn't know he was gone all week and break into my house with me here) then went to rotations. Then I went to knitting bee #? and caught up with my knitting buddies who all recently graduated. I used my extra yarn from the prayer shawls to start a scarf for next winter. After leaving I did my grocery shopping (for something to do and because Cub was on my way home) and got home around 11:30. Oliver was waiting for me and kept me company all night.
Tuesday: rotations and random stuff. I slept easier that night.
Wednesday: same as tuesday, pretty much.
Thursday: Yay, end of the week (friday was a university holiday, so we all got the day off) so me and Oliver went to moms for the weekend after rotations (Oscar was already there).
Friday, slept in a bit, worked out, picked raspberries, weeded the garden. Mom was still sleeping and I was concerned, but I figured out later she didn't sleep much (or at all?) because her back was hurting her, so she slept late (and she didn't have to work til 3pm). Then we decided to make a desert for me to bring to Rachel's with the raspberries I picked. I decided on raspberry lemon tart. It went over fabulously at Rachel's. We went to chile's and had game night. Woohoo, I was social twice in the same week, aren't you proud? Dan was proud.
Saturday: picked raspberries again (they are out of control this year) then took Rusty on a super long walk that way tired him out (we were babysitting him for the weekend too), then rested because we were also tired. Went to my aunt's and went for another walk (they were babysitting a dog too), had dinner, and went to Blaine for fireworks. We were too far away, so they weren't very good.
Today: slept in, picked raspberries AGAIN to bring home with me. Drove home with two kitties who don't like to drive in the car and decided to make dan a nice home-coming dinner, so I went shopping again and spent most of the rest of the day making stuffed shells and the lemon raspbery desert again. Mom's new oven bakes much more nicely than mine does.
So now Oliver, Oscar and I are getting ready for our last alone night and waiting for Dan to come home tommorow!!
