hey! give me one good reason to keep a baby from a shitty one night stand and raise it with someone you hate enough in the light of sobriety that you can't even stand to finish breakfast with them the next morning, and i'll tell you if i got my 40 cents worth from
knocked up.
i don't think i would have had as much of a problem with that if they'd explained it, because then it would have been obvious, opened up the possibility for debate, instead of this underlying assumed morality thing. that's what made me see it as conservative-family-values propaganda. they went over every other thing in their relationship AND her sister's in melodramatic detail (which dragged on the pace of the movie & ate up a lot of useful joke time), why not the abortion? (other than to keep the flick from being protested by pro-choicers.)
