Yes, I am going to do reviewer responses to Reconstructing Madonna and pretend I have a super-justified reason for not updating in a few minutes. First, though, I need to give anyone reading a heads-up for a very important event taking place next weekend.
I'm sure anyone in the Roswell fandom will know, or at least know of, Stacie (truelovepooh). From what I understand she's been in the fandom for quite some time, and I hear she writes some mean Alex/Isabel smut. (Would I know this firsthand? No. Why? Because as previously proven, I am a goon.) She has also been battling breast cancer for quite some time without medical insurance. There have been some auctions in the past, most of them taking place specifically in the Roswell fandom from what I understand, to try to raise money to help Stacie out. The first weekend in April will mark a multi-fandom auction. FF writers from lots of diverse fandoms have volunteered to contribute stories to the winners; and, although I can't imagine why anyone would want to bid on a story of mine, I was asked to help out and agreed - who wouldn't?
I got the chance to e-meet Stace during some of the author chats at Roswell Heaven during a previous auction, and she seems like a dear, sweet lady. I've never heard so much as a whisper of anything negative about her, which anyone who's been extensively involved in a fandom knows is rare. She is someone who is truly deserving of all the help we can give her. Please at least visit her website and find out more about her story.
You can find out more by going to
http://www.supportstacie.net or by visiting the LJ community,
supportstacie. I'm not sure of what all fandoms are being represented in the auction, but I know for a fact that among them are Dr. Who, Twilight, and Gilmore Girls. I personally am offering up a story for One Tree Hill, Roswell, and Skins OR Twilight, depending on the winning bidder's preference. As long as you aren't asking for anything the author specifically states they will not write, you can ask for pretty much any story, ship, or rating. In other words, if you revel in the idea of seeing me curl up in a ball of agony while trying to write Sean/Liz or Max/Tess (yes, I really left my Roswell section that open), you will completely bliss out over this opportunity. So, go! You don't have to bid for me, you don't have to bid period. But please, please help us get the word out and get as many people as possible involved and interested. That's all I'm asking.
