I bought my own copy of "Plans" yesterday. Previosly, I had only had a burned copy. I bought my own copy because I happened to be at a Death Cab fer Cutie concert. I was excited, to give an understatement.

When they played "We Looked Like Giants," they included a riff about ten minutes long (no exaggeration) right before the last line. It was pretty amazing. It was also pretty funny, 'cause he'd just been talking about how he supported the idea of having a song to shout at concerts that the band should be expected to know and play, but that it was time we moved on from "Freebird." Ten seconds after this statement, they played a song that must have been 15 minutes or longer.
The one downside: Ben Gibbard seems more self-centered than is called for. meh. He makes good music. I know not to become a techie for him unless I'm willing to be kicked when he gets frustrated. Since that wasn't on my list of things to do in this life, I'll content myself with this livejournal entry.
p.s. I'll be back on Coe's campus come August 12. Not all of my conquests in the East were successful, but I shall return none-the-less.
