We plan to help the staff find assistant managing and production editors and other staff as the fall term begins. Gordon Mennenga will be in contact with you soon to plan summer work on the poetry issue.
Many of the people listed above have been involved in this year’s highly successful publications. The English Department has been impressed with their work. We look forward to another exciting year of the Coe Review, and we’re pleased that you’ll be guiding this fine magazine next year.
Unsurprisingly, this made me happy. The majority of my contribution will come in during spring semester, after my thesis is pretty much finished. Additionally, I'll get to work with Tanner on a publication. Additionally, I get to work with Mel on a publication that isn't the Cosmos. When I was A&E Editor, I used her pretty mercilously, getting as many reviews and articles out of her as I could. She was good at it, and she enjoyed it, and I tried to back off whenever she was too busy. I like that I'll be working with her again, because she seemed really cool, and I never really got to know her. Also, she gets her shit done. whoot. I have yet to learn of this Hannah Heselton character, but I hope we get along fabulously. I'm just excited to be working on a publication again. The only publication they have at Maynooth is the student newspaper. After last year, I've decided that papers are not my cup of tea. I miss editing and writing and all that good stuff. yay for literary interaction being reinstated in my life.
Speaking of writing: I really need to get on that. I've been pretty good about reading for my thesis lately. I'm finding books and reading them at a relatively good rate. But I haven't written since... I don't remember. *blush* This has to change, and soon. But I'm kind of trying to take things in steps. Just now, I'm trying to keep reading for it. I'm also studying for my Latin final. (I know it's far away, but they basically want us to be fluent for the exam. ugh.) The next thing to reinstate in my schedule is writing daily. Then I just need to start reading daily for my English classes. If I can do all of that, I'll be in fair form. Done and done.
Although I haven't been writing for my thesis much, I've been journaling a lot. Seeing as how I'm planning on revising some of these entries for my thesis, I consider that a lowest-sort-of-minimal amount of writing. On that topic, I wrote about Sarah's visit and backdated it. It's under March 17. There are pictures. whoot. Also, I'm updating the post about the Drag Swan, 'cause some pictures were made available to me. Let me know if they don't work; they might end up being thumbnails or something weird?
So yeah. That's about it. Tomorrow, I'm waking up early and going into Dublin to see a movie. I ordered my budget today. I currently have about 300 euro in my Irish bank account. If I can make it until June 2nd (the day I leave) on that, I'll be in fair form for the summer and for paying off Coe next year. Living off of that much shouldn't be hard. Not hard at all.
