For some reason I have American Idol on. One of the competitors who was male and that's all I can remember chose "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" by Queen. Insult enough in itself to Freddie Mercury's self proclaimed biggest fan (he is my idol).
But Oh No. Rub salt on my wounds Mr Cowell (and I quote):
"The problem was, it was completely and utterly pointless and silly. I'm actually surprised that song was a Number One record. With all the thousands of songs you could have chosen..."
What, like a fucking Alexandra Burke song? Or maybe that Girl Band that no one remembers that were meant to challenge the Spice Girls? At least Queen wrote their own songs, played their own instruments, and actually varied their tunes rather than always going for a big weepie ballad and then putting in a key change for the last chorus so we all get swept along so emotionally *vomits* by the song. At least Queen's music has lasted this long, and they still manage to sell out Wembley forty years after they started (I know...I could only get tickets at the back row). Fuck off and get some credentials before you slag off a musical icon.
