It's 1:30 am, where are YOU?

Ok, so here's the deal. My Professional Writing class is a joke, it's so easy and way below me. All semester we've been working in groups. My group is the smallest with only 2 other stupid girls. They really suck at writing a simple letter so I have been doing our work all semester long. So far, we've gotten all A's on group work thanks to me. (And I'm not just being egotistical, I actually take the work home and do it and turn it in with all our names on it.)

Our final project is a group presentation and quarterly status report on a fictional company. It's due tomorrow morning at 8am. Okay, so I've missed a few classes recently, but I just hate dragging myself out of bed that early in the morning just to go in and type up a presentation while 2 girls watch over my shoulder. I can do that at home. Well, I emailed the girls last Tuesday apologizing for not going to class. I told them I'd go to class on Thursday and added an "I promise!" Well, I didn't go again. I emailed them again and apologized, but told them I'd just do all the work this weekend if they'd just send me the graphs they'd been working on. They were nice girls and I knew that I probably was making them worry, so why not do all the work myself again? But I got no response. Yesterday came and I still had no response. I emailed again frantic asking them to get me their slides so I can get everything together. Today at 6pm I got this email from one of the girls:

Hey Patricia,
Damaris and I have been working on the presentation, and we already have it finished because we couldn't really wait until the last minute to get everything done. The teacher said that you're going to have to do the presenation by yourself because you haven't been in class lately, and that if there is any problems to email her.

So I sent her back a nice yet nasty email. Then I emailed the teacher explaining my situation and telling her that I'd like to make arrangements to make sure I could still present tomorrow without my group. It was a very formal and nice email. Here's the response I got from her:

You cannot miss as many classes as you have missed and consider yourself to be a part of the group. Your group has worked dilligently over the past two weeks to compile their presentation. Your emails are not to be considered a substitute for in-class preparation. I do know that you had promised your group to be in attendance last Thursday, and you were not--missing two presentations (which I consider to be nearly as important as the presentation itself). Had you been in the classes, or had you emailed me, you would have known this. You can do a five minute presentation by yourself...if we have time tomorrow.

You are an excellent writer, but I doubt very seriously that your other professors do not think is deficient grade-wise for you to have missed so many classes. Nor, will I. Ms. Chow

Grrr...so now it's 2am and I am still awake writing this stupid paper/presentation.

Oh, but the good news is that Teresa called and said she'd be one of my bridesmaids. And Melanie said she'd be my maid of honor. =)
