2 more days till I get to come home!

It was soooo nice to go shopping this morning because I was dying to get out of this house. I didn't even mind the crowds. I even waited patiently in line at Express for 20 minutes to buy 2 shirts. And I got a couple more books to read since I finished the one I brought. I was so glad to be out and away from the people we're staying with. They're good people, but everyone needs a break from the old folk once in awhile. And that was the first time we left the house since we got here, unless you count the guided tour Jan gave us (the lady who lives here). Kyle and I really hadn't had any time to ourselves either so we enjoyed our time together at the mall...and we also caught a few minutes together when everyone went to look at some model homes this afternoon...hehe... =)

Jan is nice, but she likes to talk...and talk and talk and talk... I have NEVER heard anyone ramble on like she does. She talks fast and talks about everything. She told us the name and profession of everyone who lived in the neighborhood. She took us through a tour of a house that was currently being worked on. We walked right into the house and she just said "Hola" as she walked past the workers sanding and hammering. She informed us that the Mexicans don't speak English and like it when you say "Hola!" She also said she thought about learning "their language" to be nice. I know she means no harm, but she was talking about them like they weren't human and it annoyed me. I'm so sick of hearing about how great North Carolina is and how much money things/houses cost... And she doesn't listen to a word anyone says. She wants to talk about herself and the things that interest her. And that includes North Carolina, money, cooking, and painting. And I'm sick of wine. I've never drank so much wine in my life! We went out to dinner tonight and I was actually looking forward to Diet Coke!

Anyway, tomorrow we're waking up early (8am) to ride the trolley into downtown Raleigh with her daughter, granddaughter, and son-in-law (who is as interesting as a stick). I'm not sure how that's going to be,but I'll make the best of it. And tomorrow night we're going to the symphony. I'm actually looking forward to that. And then Sunday we come home!!!! I usually would hate the end of a vacation, but I'm really looking forward to seeing Lucy and sleeping in my own bed and not feeling like I have to be on my best manners all the time. I don't even care that I'll have to go back to work on Monday.
