Eating melon bread from the 7-11. According to
Wiki, melon bread is so named for its appearance, not for any melon flavor. The version I'm eating, however, seems to lack the "thin layer of crispy cookie dough" on top. The top layer does have a different texture, but it's not cookie-like. This warrants further investigation. To the laboratory (read: bakery)!
I've also come to enjoy apple bread, which neither looks nor tastes like apples. I love how even when the packaging has the English name on it, I still have no idea what I'm getting.
...upon closer investigation, I think the Chinese name on the package is actually "菠蘿麵包", i.e.
pineapple bun. The top part isn't crunchy, though. Perhaps just a consequence of being pre-packaged 7-11 food?
YES, I AM BLOGGING ABOUT BREAD. THIS IS MY EXCITING LIFE.
