you've got to whip into shape

Today, I tried on my first, last, and only pair of skinny jeans.

... Marking the second time in about as many weeks I've been a 27! I was also a size 2 in a brand where I was previously a 4. (The brans tends to run large. And is a high-waisted ... pant. But STILL.)

I have lost literally no weight. What in the name of God is going on? Myyy mother says all jeans are different, but doesn't three times make a pattern?? Is the pattern "a spike in vanity sizing"?

ANYWAY: The skinny jeans were purple with zebra stripes. I must have them. *prays for a good $$$ selling used clothes*

ALSO: As I told dictator_duck, I have figured out why some people look good in skinny jeans despite the tendency for weight in women's bodies to settle in the hip region.

IF you can manage the arduous process of POURING YOURSELF into a pair of skinny jeans, which in my case involved shimmying, holding my breath, and praying to the Virgin Mary, what can happen is that in that transition, the weight from your thighs gets shifted around so as to conform to the not-very-stretchy denim mold.

PAIN.

And yet: RESULTS.
