My thoughts for the day

Feb 14, 2008 22:46

It's V-Day. Everyone and their mother seems to be pointing it out, posting on it, or pointedly ignoring it. I mean, I guess it makes sense, since the holiday's ubiquitous and all. If you're in America today, there's no way to escape it. Fortunately, I have managed to break free of the social brainwashing coming at me from all corners (buy a ( Read more... )

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall. (with a bottle 'hidden' in a paper bag)
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall. (because of the bottle 'hidden in a paper bag)
All the King's horses and all the kings men, (wait, he gets ponies and his own men? not fair!)
Couldn't put Humpty together again. (so much the better)

[please insert your own Nixon joke here]

In other words, it seems like an interesting book and I too enjoyed this evening's episode of Deano and the Ginormitron.

*blink*

I'm still trying to figure out how Humpty and Nixon go together. Damn my public school education that skipped everything after 1951!!!

You would love the book, I want to encourage every single woman I know to read it. Ahh, Deano and the Ginormitron... they make me all warm and fuzzy inside.

Humpty is an apt allegory for numerous politicians, I just like picking on Nixon the most. If you'd like, we could start some sort of bizarre seminar wherein a full faculty is assembled to impart factoids of America(na) to you - starting from 1951. (For example, did you know that John Rambo was not a real soldier in any of the Southeast Asian conflicts in the past 50 decades? Weird but true.) I can think of a few people off hand who would relish such responsibility.

It is good that you pair single women with Deano, the Ginormitron and the fuzzy feelings they incite. Hand in hand really. (have you seen 'Jus in Bello' yet???)

Rambo's... Rambo's not real?!?! I feel like a small part of me has died.

Speaking of which, did you see the survey where a majority of Brits questioned thought Sherlock Holmes actually lived and Ghandi was fictional? I think everyone needs this seminar.

However, if my lovely friends would be willing to take the time to impart these jewels of wisdom, I do think it would prove most... helpful.

I just finished watching Jus in Bello-literally. WOW I love where they're going with the moral ambiguity and Lilith and I was horribly amused by how hung up Deano was on The Last Virgin in Colorado (TM). It was indeed awesomeness personified.

Except for the part where Henriksen got 'sploded. That is lacking in awesome.

Actually, I thought that that too was pretty awesome. I didn't like that he had to die, but the show made a point. Fear Lilith.
