I actually made it to work on time today, and have been wasting time tooling around on the intarweb since then. Way to start the new year off on the right foot.
The weekend was interesting. On New Year's eve I found myself contemplating how badly it would ruin the party if I stabbed someone with a plastic fork because they didn't seem to understand that they were seriously crossing my threshold. Thank goodness for
baklaguy, who diffused the situation by exaggeratedly hiding in a corner and thus making me laugh. Thank goodness as well for the fact that I'm not very wrathful and thus my anger can be diffused by slapstick antics:
Greed:Medium
Gluttony:High
Wrath:Very Low
Sloth:Very High
Envy:Very Low
Lust:High
Pride:Very Low
Discover Your Sins - Click Here I randomly ran into a friend of mine that I haven't seen in three years; An active duty Marine, the last I'd heard of him was that he'd been shipped off to places unknown for two years. It was good to see him so unexpectedly, though not entirely surprising. As much as he's been in my thoughts over the last three years, in the back of my mind I knew he was still around, and that our paths would cross again. I'm glad it happened sooner rather than later.
I got this spam in one of my web site inboxes this morning. I found it highly amusing, and it made me think that I should write a song whose lyrics are comprised entirely of spam email content:
Subject: Personalising technology solutions.
I had a monumental idea this morning, but I didn't like it. The only thing that will redeem mankind is cooperation. Nothing is at last sacred but the integrity of our own mind. A sneer is often the sign of heartless malignity. Love thy neighbour as yourself, but choose your neighbourhood. Order is the shape upon which beauty depends.
Enough dawdling from me; More on the weekend's events later.
