i have watched 96 movies and 46 seasons of tv this year.

i couldn't hack it. for the same reasons i can't be a lit major.

Liking books and movies is the best reason I know for avoiding academic study of them. At the least, certainly no reason TO study them. Most importantly, being in the humanities requires human interaction, with the most loathsome people outside of, well, every other department. All the successful lit majors I know are rich and/or well-connected, and most certainly not afraid of dealing with people or, like, leaving the house. As for film studies majors, there are no successful ones.
