so i'm studying at atlanta bread co. on poplar ave. and it's right next to this hair salon. all day long, i've seen old women slowly get out of their cars, walk back to their trunk to get their cane/walker, and then slowly make their way accross the parking lot toward the salon. they seem tired and heavy with age and thier gait reflects that. they all wear the standard old lady orthopedic shoes with elestic pants and some kind of sweater, despite the fact it's 78* today. some even have some kind of hat on. yet as tired as they look when they go in, they look rejuvinated when they emerge. big hair, loud make-up and suddenly they are a bit more upright. you should see their smiles! they look me in the eye through the window and grin with pride over who they are and how they look. it just goes to show that it's amazing what a good hair do can do for someone. such basic humanity. it strikes me as ironic that while i am observe these old women, i am studying wills and estates. that makes me think even more. hmmm........
