He stood in the community garden not three blocks away from Chuck's house. Technically it was twilight, but he could hear the playful screams of the neighbourhood's children from the nearby playground so it must have been still early.
He thought how rare it was to find yellow daffodils growing in such an open place in this neighbourhood. He knelt down to the ground to rest on his haunches. Cupping an open flower in his hand he brought his nose down and took in the scent.
It smelt of sunshine, the summer rains and it reminded him of her...
