Astaroth! Did you-or Seth- accidentally borrowed my underwear yesterday? You shouldn't have seen anything in the darkness and must have mistaken our quarters. I'm not going to ask Her Grace this question.

Ahh! You can keep them. I think I'm going to buy new ones, instead. {Laughs}

I really don't think either of them would do that without telling you.

[Shahrazad eeps and bows her head.]

I didn't believe they would do it on purpose, your Grace!

[She enters the room, curious but not showing it.]

Perhaps you mislaid them?

No, your Grace. Please look at this.

[She kneels in front of the revolved items and the small signals of breaking in.]

Our security was violated. There was no power and someone came inside and took them.

[She moves next to Shahrazad - she's short enough that she doesn't need to kneel to get a good look at what she's showing her.]

Oh dear. We cannot have that.

[Shahrazad isn't very tall, but the shoewear she dons make up for that. She blinks at Mirka's statement.]

It's alright, Your Grace, our system couldn't work in the dark and nothing of value was lost.

[Mirka of course cannot tell Shahrazad why she's really worried, because of the Empress living with them. Even though she knows that there are few things that can stand against Seth.]

That's true - but still, it would set my mind at rest to have it checked properly.

[Shahrazad looks at her, a little more seriously, she still had mixed feelings about what happened in the Empire but she knew they had their reasons.]

Are you worried about endangering yourself, Your Grace?

[She shakes her head.]

When we can, Astaroth and I could ask assistance from our companions in the police force to improve the security.

[It would be much simpler to have Shahrazad know everything, but Mirka is used to dealing with layers of deception.]

Myself and Astaroth, and you and Seth, of course.

[Mentioning Seth last, as she would have done if she was truly a Terran. She nods her head slightly, acquiescing.]

Yes, that would be a good idea.

Nothing will happen to Seth, Your Grace.

[She affirms quickly and impulsively just after the Duchess mentions that. Being a Terran young girl landing while she felt at loss without her family and Esther, Shahrazad was protective. She also thinks it must be odd for the Duchess of Moldova to have a Terran in her household.

But she claims to know Esther...]

I will tell Astaroth. There is nobody in the prison division with this experience. She might know someone in her department.

I am sure that nothing will.

[Not while Mirka could do anything to prevent it, at least. She's glad there is no one here from their world who is too familiar with her habits, as otherwise her easy acceptance of a Terran into her household might have been questioned.]

[Mirka laughs a little, gently.]

I wouldn't go quite that far, but yes, it is better to know now than to find out in a more serious situation.
