Election results

Through the final run up to election day I never feared that Obama would not win. I respected McCain, but the face he showed while campaigning was not the one that fought the Bush white house years ago, and then there was Palin. so I knew in my heart that he could not prevail.

No, on election night my greatest fears were for Prop 8. I haven’t posted much on this since even the more conservative of my friends saw it for what it was. Even stripped of its religious underpinnings, it was still an attack on a group of fellow Americans who’s only fault (if you can call it that) was to be different. This is not the first time that a segment of a modern society decided that being different was enough of a reason to deny rights to a minority group, to marginalize them, and to persecute them.

It happened in Germany and they called themselves Nazis.
