OH! My heart! I adore you, I hope you know! These were some of my favorite fills over there. I'm such a sucker for h/c and away mission mishaps and gallant Sulu and brave, determined Chekov. Spock's lines were pitch perfect and made me smile. Kirk pulling rank on Sulu was ACES. And those first few paragraphs describing the way things were supposed to go, the way things actually went, the way Kirk and Sulu were supposed to kick ass, and what actually went down were absolutely amazing! I loved how matter-of-fact the description was and it made me laugh.

I really love the way that you write Chekov. Seriously. I'm really more of a Sulu girl myself and, though I like Chekov well enough and think he's perfect for Sulu, I rarely find myself really drawn to him as a character in stories, more just his compatability with Sulu. But I adore how you write him-- really. In every piece I've read by you, he's completely endearing and the perfect blend of worried and brave, competent and sweet, bad-ass and wistful. I just love him.

It's funny, because I think I would say the same about myself. I mean I love Chekov, but the starting point for me really often is the relationship with Sulu (not that he has no intrinsic value otherwise, that's just usually my "in" from a writing perspective). I have to say that playing with him has turned out to be a really pleasant surprise. So I'm really glad he's turned out all right from a reading perspective. Thank you so much!
