(no subject)
Stuff that's been happening:
1) Gaming - A bit peeved at my luck with Rat's game. I keep getting NPC'ed or distracted and just not being able to enjoy the game like I'd like to. I don't know if it's just saturday being bad for me and I can't get the hint, or gods conspiring against me. I like playing as Kethean too. He's not quite as cool as Elaine, but he's got his moments. Last saturday got stuck with 'family time' stuff. I like my family, but did we have to have it when I was gonna do gaming stuff? ;_;
Weekly D&D is doing a lot better at least. Dune took to heart the comments of the players and he's playing around with the bonus exp thing (currently taking it out and seeing about doing in-game stuff) and other mentioned stuff. We'll see how it works out. Elaine got to kick ass a few days ago and completely demoralized her opponent. Poor bastard. ^^
Scheduling is a bit messy for gaming though due to RL stuff, both for me and other players. Dune's got work as always, Iddy's got his recruitment thing happening, and I've gotten an interview offer. Of course, I kinda had to schedule it during Dune's Weekly D&D, and while annoying, I can at least be less bothered by it than spontaneous family time. >_>;
SM gaming is also kinda screwy, since our schedules all seem to have gotten weirder. Looks like we'll be trying for a main game session this thursday though from logs of today while I was out. We'll see if it pans out.
Hopefully this isn't a constant thing either, since Drac's posted about setting up a game come summer, and I'll probably wanna join. Not sure yet since he really hasn't posted details on it.
2) Job hunting - As I said, I got a job interview coming up this friday. One of the connections I made while helping out with conventions stuff panned out as I got a call from Baker Petrolites (sub-division of Baker Hughes), did a short phone interview, and now got the formal interview coming up. Also got in contact with a friend (well, contact really) in Fluor, and they're going to see about reaching the HR person I just can't seem to reach or get to contact me about the damn job. Oh, and Xerox called about setting up a phone interview so they can see if they want me to come over to oklahoma city for formal interview. Ditto for some company called Quest TruTec (never heard about them whatsoever before, but hell, they were hiring, I'm applying) and phone interviewing.
Speaking of formal interviews, I need to contact Schlumberger so I can remind them to send plane tickets info for my interview mid-April (think it was 11-12th?).
I'm hoping at least -one- of these damn companies pans out for me. Preferably Fluor or Baker, since they're Sugar Land jobs, so I don't have to move/relocate.
3) Family - A bit worried about my sister. She was over for spring break this week, and left today. Well, not to NY though. She's going to New Orleans to help out with disaster relief and coming back on friday. Considering some of the news about the sheer evil bastards taking advantage of this? I'm a bit worried. Hopefully nothing will happen, and she's going to be with other friends from NY.
I got into a couple of bad fights with her while she was here, and I still think she's a spoiled brat, but she's still my sis.
Mom's been bugging me to help out more with her business (Xpress-Ideas) so I've currently promised her something like 20hr/wk, with wednesdays me being all hers. Wednesday being tomorrow. Bleh. I'm gonna be sorting catalogs too, which is a pain. >_<
4) A-kon or SR meet - I -want- to go to either one of these, but not happening unless I can get a damn job. Feel a bit bad that Hal told me he can make A-kon recently and I couldn't say so about myself. I like hanging with Hal, but haven't really been seeing him much on IRC either, and A-kon would have been a fun time to hang out. Plus we probably could have gone meet up with Iddy/Stormy since they're in the Dallas area where A-kon is held. Goddamn job hunting. I want a freaking answer on that crap and be done with it.
5) Health - I've been having some -really- bad migraines lately. I've actually been popping excedrin pills daily. Weekend had a fairly bad one, and the people over at #mk where smacking me telling me to go to a doctor about it. Actually did go to one on the way back from dropping sis at airport today, a chinese doctor. Got some herbal medicine, gonna see how that works out.
I'm also planning on going to the gym more regularly again. My migraines really started around the time I stopped going daily to the gym a few weeks back, so hopefully between the medicine and exercise, I won't be feeling so shitty. Of course, mom wants to go in the damn mornings (6:30am) and I'm just not a freaking morning person. We'll see if I can manage early morning gym. I do enjoy going to the gym, really, it makes me -feel- better, but it's just...ugh. I hate the times my mom -wants- to go and it's -her- car.
6) Fanfics - I keep getting distracted from the Ranma/AMS fic. Liddo's given it up for dead, though I haven't just yet. But I can't help my distractability... I really am writing, just not on what I've been meaning to... The plushie'll probably smack me and call me a bitch after reading this. >_>;;;
7) Misc - Mom's apparently gotten to my dad with that desire of a new bigger house, and they've been house hunting. They found a plot of land nearby and talked with people that are doing construction there about house, and I think they're pretty interested in getting new house built there. Mom's actually asking me to help clean up house and getting rid of junk to make house look more spacious. I'm very likely going to be selling a bunch of my comic books (or trying to) on ebay once I get them organized, since she wants the bookshelves I'm using to go among other things. I guess I'll have to see about organizing my crap and seeing what can be sold.
