So yea, school..
blech. I spent the better part of two hours yesterday converting ASCII to binary and Hex code.
by hand
Compsci majors are masochists, I swear.
Thankfully I found a website that has a java proggy which does it automatically. That sped things up quite nicely.
I probably shouldn't use it but I -know- how to do it, it's just a flaming pain in the ass to do out the long way. especially when you consider how long some of these excersizes were.
For example:
ASCII: To be or not to be?
HEX: 546F206265206F72206E6F7420746F2062653F00
Binary (broken up into 8bit sections for easy reading):
01010100 01101111 00100000 01100010 01100101 00100000 01101111 01110010 00100000 01101110 01101111 01110100 00100000 01110100 01101111 00100000 01100010 01100101 00111111
mind you then I had to copy this to pen/paper. Can you imagine how easy it would be to make a mistake in copying that by hand?
